My Story

I am currently the head of the Science Department and professor in AP/SAT Chemistry and Biology at Elpis College helping Grade 12 students and high school graduates not only learn but master the subject material required for US college entrance exams.  From developing course materials, to creating course schedules, to being a liaison with clients and educators, I believe that I have an integral role in shaping the leaders of tomorrow.  I take my job very seriously and do it very passionately.

In the past I have worked in research at the University of Toronto creating Gadolinium-coated nanoparticles which serve as substrates for attaching imaging proteins and therapeutics.  At the end of my research contract, I was able to produce and refine an exact protocol for manufacture nanoparticles of consistent size, shape and chemical profile.

I have also been a QC/QA associate at Sanofi Pasteur analyzing quality data on various vaccines including diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis, polio, and influenza.  I have developed custom statistical software to make data manipulation more efficient.

At Quality Brand Oil, I was a QC/QA Manager overseeing the operations of the entire oil processing and bottling facility.  While there, I drove an initiative to purchase, install, and utilize an automated Gamajet tank cleaning and sanitation system. The new system improved the overall sanitation of the storage tanks as demonstrated with fewer positives for organic residue with ATP tests, reduced the down time by 75%, and was more cost-efficient than manual sanitation. After about six weeks, the company had recouped the cost of purchase and was saving approximately $9,000 in labor costs every month.

Last but not least, I have several years of experience working at the University of Toronto for Health Science Inquiry as a Reviewer.  It was my job to scientifically analyze publications submitted by graduate students and guide them in producing final versions that were of publication quality.

If I had to list my three greatest strengths, it would be:

1) Ability to make positive and impactful interactions with people from all walks of life - students, educators, scientists, health care professionals etc.  It is about making people happy while also getting the job done.

2) Willingness to adapt to any environment - when joining a new organization no matter how big or how small, it is always my responsibility to adapt and integrate myself seamlessly not others' responsibility to adapt to me.

3) Loyalty - without it, interpersonal relationships are fleeting and shallow and that affects business productivity negatively.  I have always believed it is crucial to be dedicated towards my superiors, colleagues and subordinates.  It is really what I am about as an individual.
